Couples Therapy

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident.

Gone are the days when couples therapy was something people whispered about. Today, more and more couples recognize that healthy, fulfilling relationships don't just happen — they require intention, communication, patience, emotional investment, and ongoing care.

Our closest relationships have the power to bring us our greatest sense of connection, peace, and belonging, but they can also become the source of our deepest stress, hurt, and loneliness when something feels out of alignment.

When you're investing in your relationship, it makes sense to work with a therapist whose training is centered on relationships. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) are the only mental health professionals whose graduate education is specifically focused on couples, families, and relational dynamics. We view challenges through a relational lens, helping partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and build healthier, more connected relationships.

Areas We Commonly Support

We work with couples experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Communication challenges

  • Premarital counseling

  • Life transitions (welcoming a child, moving, career changes, retirement, and more)

  • Emotional and sexual intimacy

  • Parenting and co-parenting

  • Work stress and job loss

  • Medical diagnoses and chronic illness

  • Trauma and its impact on relationships

  • Grief and loss

  • Infidelity and rebuilding trust

  • Separation and divorce

  • Recurring conflict and relationship patterns

What Can I Expect From Couples Therapy?

The first step is simply getting to know the two of you. We want to understand your relationship, your strengths, your challenges, and the story that brought you here.

Couples therapy is a space for honesty, vulnerability, curiosity, and growth. Together, we'll identify the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and help you develop new ways of communicating, understanding one another, and responding to conflict. Our goal isn't to decide who's "right" or "wrong," nor is it to tell you whether you should stay together or separate. During our 60-min sessions, we help you communicate your values, perspectives, needs, and experiences in ways that foster understanding, deepen connection, and create opportunities for meaningful change. We believe that when both partners feel heard and understood, they're better equipped to make thoughtful decisions about the future of their relationship.

Our work is informed by evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and systemic, trauma-informed care. Every couple is different, so therapy is tailored to your unique relationship and goals.

Above all, you can expect a space that feels safe, confidential, compassionate, and free of judgment — a place where both partners can lower their defenses, feel heard, and begin reconnecting. Reach out to a relational expert today.
