Liann Seiter Brown

I approach therapy with a warm, intentional presence and invite you to bring your whole personality into the room — the messy, joyful, uncertain, and resilient parts — just as I do. I believe that showing up authentically together creates the foundation for meaningful healing and lasting change.

About Liann

I bring a holistic, mind-body perspective to my work, shaped by my training as a massage therapist, yoga teacher, and birth doula. These experiences have deepened my belief that healing happens when we care for the whole person — mind, body, emotions, and relationships. I love working with children, adolescents, emerging adults, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, grief, relationship challenges, and other life transitions.

My research background helps guide an evidence-based approach, but I believe that therapy is ultimately built on authentic human connection. I strive to create a space where you feel safe to show up as your whole self, feel truly heard, and explore the parts of your story that have shaped who you are.

Outside of my clinical practice, I wear a few different hats! I serve as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for master's students in the Couples and Family Therapy Program at the University of Maryland, teach as an Adjunct Professor at UMD, and am a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I also serve as Vice President of MetroMFT, the professional organization for marriage and family therapists in the Washington–Baltimore region.

I have been practicing for over eight years, and I continue to be inspired by the courage it takes to begin therapy and make meaningful changes. I value authenticity, curiosity, and creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel supported as you move toward greater alignment in your life and relationships.
